S.B.M. was set up in 1984. The idea come from motor car racing and its collaboration with the biggest manufacturers enables it today to master all the modern techniques necessary for manufacturing a car : research, design, mechanical welding, electricity, composites, bench running-in, telemetry, ...

Confident from its expérience which today places it on the same level as the top world racing preparators, S.B.M. can now impose its know-how in all fields.

S.B.M. and the Competition (Mitsubishi-Motors)

It was in 1972 that the collaboration between Bernard Maingret and Sonauto begun.

In 1984, on the Mitsubishi Pajero base, S.B.M. developed prototypes of categories T3, which were to be used in the Rallye-Raid. A year later, in 1985, it ensured the doubling in the Paris-Dakar.

Not only happy to master every step in the manufacturing of a car, S.B.M. offers assistance in the races. Its polyvalent team follows the cars on the race trail but above all looks after the intendance and the complete program.

The results of this work was not long coming, and today S.B.M. can speak for itself. It has won a number of rallies such as Paris-Dakar, Tunisia, Atlas, The Wynn's Safari Australia, the Baja Monteblancos, and to crown everything : a triple victory in the Paris-Sirthe-LeCap 1992.

S.B.M. and the Tourism Cars (Donkervoort)

Since 1988, Bernard Maingret imports fabulous sports cars from the Dutch manufacturer Joop Donkervoort.

The present range is comprised of 3 differents models, sold fitted and certified. S.B.M. actively participates along with the manufacturer in the development and technical evolution of cars.

There is, in fact, a Club which groups all the owners of Donkervoort in France.
